Toco men plead not guilty to WASA metal theft

Four men from Toco appeared before a Sangre Grande magistrate on Monday accused of stealing scrap metal belonging to the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA). Troy Forbes, Renrick Baird, Gerald Prime and Michael Gorin pleaded not guilty to charges of larceny when they stood before Magistrate Ejenny Espinet.

They were each granted $50,000 bail and ordered to reappear in court on April 30. The accused men were arrested on March 31 on Arthur Street, Cumana. They are accused of stealing metal sheets from a water tank belonging to WASA. The charges were laid by WASA estate corporals Estridge and Maloney.
